2. Can I install artificial grass on top of my existing lawn ?
This is not generally recommended as the existing grass will die and compact to give an uneven surface. However if you the surface is even and has good drainage then this is possible.
3. I grow trees and shrubs later on?
Yes. It is quite easy to cut out a section of artificial grass to accommodate a new garden layout
4. Can it be cut to fit a circle?

5. How is it fixed to the ground?
The grass itself is loosely laid on top of the prepared sub-base and weed barrier membrane. After placing the grass, the pile is filled with fine dried sand, at a rate of 25kgs/3sq m, which serves several purposes. Importantly, it holds the grass in position, it disperses heat and improves the drainage performance. It also supports the pile giving an enhanced appearance.
6. Does it need regular maintenance?
Artificial grass needs minimal maintenance. No more cutting ,watering, weed treatments, edging or all the tasks which take up so much time during the season. We offer a “once a year” service, at reasonable cost, to call with you and check all aspects of the installation. This includes the joints, edges and sand fill.
7.What sort of base is acceptable for artificial grass?
There are many types of artificial grass's base which you can use. An acceptable hard artificial grass's base would be Tarmac, Asphalt or Concrete and it's generally better if it is porous eg. Tarmac. If you wish to install the artificial grass on top of concrete then you need to be careful that the edges of any slabs do not show through. You could cover the concrete with a layer of sand, or even better install a rubber shock pad between the concrete and the artificial grass. This type of cover, sand or shock pad, is also needed when you overlay where different materials are joined eg. soil to concrete. One final point is that if the surface is impermeable eg. concrete, then a slight slope to aid run off is advised. Alternatively sub surface drainage can be installed.
Is the sun harmful to ProGreen Synthetic Grass™, will it fade?
No. We don't use a topical UV treatment, our fibers have built-in UV Inhibitors that we mix into the fiber/yarn resin. Turf made outside of the USA will often have insufficient UV protection that can cause the fibers to break down prematurely. All ProGreen™ turf is made from the highest-quality materials from our plants in the USA. We have projects that we installed in the late 1980s that have no discernible signs of fading.
In rare instances we have found that Energy Efficient Windows can cause magnified reflections that may cause synthetic turf to melt if it is in the direct path of that reflection. The magnification from some Energy Efficient Windows is so powerful that it can melt sprinkler heads, kiddie pools, and other plastics. If you do have Energy Efficient Windows, call the manufacture and ask them how to remedy this problem. Tinting the windows is usually sufficient.
